    We Are Twisted F**cking Sister!

    Released: February 23, 2016
When Twisted Sister exploded onto the national music scene in 1983, the foul-mouthed, cross-dressing rabble-rousers became one of the definitive shock metal acts of the 1980s, their infamous live shows drawing rabid sell-out crowds and their music videos establishing an early MTV. But the band that killed disco was hardly an overnight success. WE ARE TWISTED SISTER! is the wickedly entertaining and surprisingly poignant untold story of the ten grueling years spent battling it out in suburban bars and night clubs around Long Island and the Tri-State Area prior to the band's legendary breakout, recounted by the band themselves and the club owners, record executives and rival bands along for the ride.

Joy Behar's Comics with Benefits

Joy Behar, host of Current TV’s “Joy Behar: Say Anything!” will headline a special night of comedy to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy, the recent super storm that affected New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. “Joy Behar’s Comics with Benefits” will feature Behar and some of her stand-up comic friends including Andy Borowitz, Wendy Williams, Rosie Perez, Sherri Shepherd, Dee Snider, Darrell Hammond, Susie Essman, Judy Gold, Mario Cantone and John Fugelsang, in addition to other notable names in the worlds of TV, film, theater and music. Current co-founder Vice President Al Gore, Liza Minnelli, talk show host Stephen Colbert and others will appear in special videotaped appearances during the special. All talent is subject to change.

The event is presented in conjunction with 92nd Street Y in New York City, the Jewish cultural and community center known for its wide-ranging conversations and talks, where Behar frequently appears.  The show will take place live at 92nd Street Y on Monday, December 10th and will air on Current TV on Friday, December 14th at 9PM et, with subsequent airings throughout the holiday season.

Current TV and 92Y are donating proceeds from the benefit to relief efforts benefitting Sandy victims in the tri-state area through two charities – UJA-Federation of New York, which provides cash assistance, temporary housing, food, and far more to the thousands of New Yorkers struggling in the aftermath of the storm, and Rebuilding Together, which provides critical repairs and renovations for low-income homeowners. Fundraising efforts will be accomplished through the sale of tickets, along with on-air and social media calls to solicit funds that go directly to the charities.

“I know that so many of my fellow New Yorkers have been deeply affected by this terrible storm,” said Behar. “I also believe that laughter is essential, now more than ever, as we rebuild after this disaster.”

For more information on the special, to buy tickets and to donate to “Joy Behar’s Comics With Benefits,” go to www.92Y.org/comics or www.current.com/comicswithbenefits. “Joy Behar’s Comics with Benefits” is being produced by JoyBee Productions and Hommel House Productions for Current TV.
