The auction will benefit the Station Family Fund, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization founded by survivors of the Station Nightclub fire. The auction will run through April 3rd. A wide array of amazing musical memorabilia includes signed items by Crosby Stills & Nash, Def Leppard, Paul Rogers (Bad Company), Extreme, Gretchen Wilson, Boston members Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl, Tesla, Stryper, Winger, Twisted Sister, and much more.

Prevalent in the auction are the many guitars signed by the musicians who performed at the “Phoenix Rising” benefit concert at Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on February 25, 2008.

The Station Family Fund is an all-volunteer, 501 c 3 recognized, tax exempt, nonprofit organization founded to offer assistance and relief to people directly affected by the fire at The Station nightclub in West Warwick, Rhode Island.  100 people perished, close to 200 were severely injured, and more than 60 children lost one or both parents in the horrific fire on Feb 20, 2003. Todd King, a survivor himself of the fire, is the President of the Station Family Fund.

“It’s vital we don’t forget the families left behind,” said King.  “The Station Family Fund was formed to help those families, as well as the survivors. The Mimi Fishman Foundation has been instrumental in helping our organization raise funds through past on-line auctions and we are grateful for their incredible  support.”

He added, “The guitars are amazing.”

In a related note, VH1 and VH1 Classic will simultaneously premiere a one-hour special of the “Phoenix Rising” concert on both their networks on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008. Entitled, "VH1 Classic Presents: AFTERMATH: The Station Fire Five Years Later,” is a continuation of the effort to raise awareness about the plight of the Station fire survivors.

The Mimi Fishman Foundation is a 501 c 3 recognized, tax exempt, nonprofit organization that was established in 1999 by Miriam "Mimi" Fishman (the late mother of Phish drummer Jon Fishman) and David Shulman, as a vehicle to raise funds for various charities.  With no paid employees, the Foundation operates solely by the help of volunteers.
